HEY,
YOU ARE JUST A STEP AWAY FROM JOINING YOUR FIRST ERASMUS...
01
YOU PROBABLY KNOW ERASMUS
as a study abroad experience during university years. To apply for this type of Erasmus, check with your university for details on the requirements and application process.
02
BUT WHAT IF WE TOLD YOU
that the Erasmus programme also offers other opportunities that are completely free and open to almost everyone?
03
LET US EXPLAIN
These lesser-known opportunities are called Youth Exchanges and Training Courses. These projects don’t require university enrolment and are designed to be even more inclusive: anyone over the age of 13 with around a week of free time can participate, with accommodation, travel and meal costs covered by the programme.

These options carry the same core values as the traditional Erasmus study abroad experience, but unfortunately, very few people know about them, which is also one of the main reason we started the Erasmus Generation Movie project.
-
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THESE PROJECTS?Anyone over the age of 13 (up to 30 for Youth Exchanges) with citizenship or a residence permit in one of the participating countries is eligible. University enrollment and English certification are not required, though some basic English knowledge is helpful!
-
WHEN CAN I DO IT?The Youth Exchanges are announced all year round, from a period of 5 to 21 days, however, most of them are around 10-day long. Training Courses last from 2 days to 2 months.
-
WHERE DO I DO IT?The location of the project could be in all Member States of the European Union, plus North Macedonia, Serbia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Türkiye, and more. For the full list of participating countries, please visit: https://erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu/programme-guide/part-a/eligible-countries

WHAT AM I DOING DURING A YOUTH EXCHANGE/TRAINING COURSE?During these projects, young people are guided by experienced youth workers and leaders. Groups from three or more countries gather at a designated location to share meals, accommodation, fun activities, and learning experiences. Youth Exchanges help participants build skills, explore important social issues, discover new cultures, and deepen values like solidarity and democracy. Watching our movie is a great shortcut to understanding more, but if you’re not able to (yet): You can expect to participate in non-formal activities such as workshops, exercises, debates, role-plays, outdoor activities, and more. There's usually an intercultural night where participants share traditional meals, dances, and activities. Plus, you'll have plenty of opportunities to relax and connect with people from different countries.

WHY SHOULD I DO IT?Ask all the people who said "Erasmus changed my life". Or simply watch "The Erasmus Generation" movie
"YOU GOT ME, HOW CAN I PROCEED?"
The European Union provides funding to NGOs that organize these projects. Each participating country has NGOs responsible for organizing, selecting, and coordinating the departure of participants.

Below, you’ll find a list of NGOs in each country where you can begin your Erasmus journey. Each country’s section includes application instructions and other relevant information.

If you need any assistance, feel free to reach out via the Chatbox. Amir and Federica are available 24/7 to provide support and information.
READY, SET, GO!
